PII (Personally identifiable information), as used in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person or to identify an individual in context. Please read our privacy policy carefully to understand how we collect, use, protect, or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information per our website.

What personal information do we collect from the people that visit our blog, website, or app?
When contacting us on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, or other details to help you with your experience.

When do we collect information?
We collect information from you when you fill out a form or enter information on our site, such as when you become a member/user of the site. You, the user, can also remove that information without our involvement. You have 100% control over the data you enter and remove.

How do we use your information?
We may use the information we collect from you when you register as a user, make a purchase via our shop, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways: To allow us to better service you in responding to your customer service requests.

How do we protect visitor information?
We use vulnerability scanning and/or scanning to various standards, including PCI standards. We use regular Malware Scanning, which Google provides.

Can I remove/delete my user account?
Yes, each user that has created an account with Evlear Magazine can permanently terminate the account at any time using the Delete Account link under the Settings menu when logged in. This will remove all the data you have entered into your account. Once the link has been clicked and the account is removed, there is no possible way to retrieve the data, which is permanently deleted.

Do we use an SSL certificate?
Yes. We only provide articles and information and never ask for personal or private information like credit card numbers or address information. We use an SSL certificate because we want to add an additional layer of security for our visitors.

Do we use cookies?
Yes. When you submit data through a form such as those found on contact pages or comment forms, cookies may be set to remember your user details for future correspondence. When you enter the site, this is part of the "session" cookie set. A "session" cookie is also called a transient cookie, which is erased when you close the Web browser. The session cookie is stored in temporary memory and is not retained after the browser is closed. Session cookies do not collect information from your computer. They typically will store information as a session identification that does NOT personally identify you.

We do not actively include or offer third-party products or services on our website. These are clearly marked and highlighted if that is to be the case. We do, however, link externally to Festival websites in the Festivals section of the website.

Google Fonts
The website uses the font "Inter" (Designed by Rasmus Andersson) provided by Google Fonts. Read the privacy policy for Google Fonts. The reason for using this font is mainly due to the legibility of our written content on this website. Essentially making it easier to read in a uniform manner rather than relying on the system font of your device (which is faster but can provide its own problems). Google Fonts are also free to use.

Google reCAPTCHA
We are reCAPTCHA for our contact form, which is only available for registered users, and the registration form itself. Any data collected by Google can be reviewed and read about in their privacy policy.

Google Adsense
Google's Advertising Principles can sum up Google's advertising requirements. They are put in place to provide a positive experience for users. The website does not contain personalized ads, as we have not enabled this option in Google Adsense.

TravelPayouts
Travelpayouts can sum up Travelpayout's advertising requirements. They are put in place to provide a positive experience for users. Via Travelpayouts, we use primarily only text links and image banner ads.

California Online Privacy Protection Act
CalOPPA is the first state law in the nation to require commercial websites and online services to post a privacy policy. The law's reach stretches well beyond California to require a person or company in the United States (and conceivably the world) that operates websites collecting personally identifiable information from California consumers to post a conspicuous privacy policy on its website stating exactly the information being collected and those individuals with whom it is being shared, and to comply with this policy.

According to CalOPPA, we agree that: users can visit our site anonymously.
Users will be notified of any privacy policy changes: On our Privacy Policy Page.
Users can change their personal information: By logging in to their accounts.

Evlear Magazine has, under the California Online Privacy Protection Act, restricted data processing in accordance with available options on Google Adsense.

How does our site handle do not track signals?
We honor do not track signals and do not track plant cookies or use advertising when a Do Not Track (DNT) browser mechanism is in place. Our website only sets PHP session and CSRF cookies, never any tracking cookies.

Does our site allow third-party behavioral tracking?
It's also important to note that we do not allow third-party behavioral tracking unless set by advertisers like Google.

COPPA (Children Online Privacy Protection Act)
When collecting personal information from children under 13 years old, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) puts parents in control. The Federal Trade Commission, the nation's consumer protection agency, enforces the COPPA Rule, which spells out what operators of websites and online services must do to protect children's privacy and safety online.

Evlear Magazine does not specifically market to children under the age of 18 years old. Evlear Magazine is an adult website in the sense that our content is created for people between the legal age of 18 - 65 years.

The concepts they include have played a significant role in developing data protection laws around the globe. Understanding the Fair Information Practice Principles and how they should be implemented is critical to comply with the various privacy laws that protect personal information.

To align with Fair Information Practices, we will take the following responsive action should a data breach occur: Within one business day.
We will notify the users via in-site notification: Within one business day.

We also agree with the individual redress principle, which requires that individuals have a right to pursue legally enforceable rights against data collectors and processors who fail to adhere to the law. This principle requires that individuals have enforceable rights against data users and have recourse to courts or a government agency to investigate and/or prosecute non-compliance by data processors.

CAN-SPAM Act
The CAN-SPAM Act is a law that sets the rules for commercial email, establishes requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have emails stopped from being sent to them, and spells out tough penalties for violations.

We only collect your email address when you: Send us a message via our Contact Form or if you sign up for our newsletter.
To be in accordance with CANSPAM, we agree to the following: Never send you any unsolicited email. We only send you an email in reply to the one you've sent us via our Contact Form.

If at any time you would like to have your email correspondence removed, you can, and we will promptly remove ALL correspondence.
