Bristol-based Amos Nelson aka Waifs & Strays has stacked up a solid back catalogue on the likes of Jamie Jones’s Hot Creations, Matt Tolfrey’s Leftroom and Kerri Chandler’s MadTech Records. This along with his long affiliation with Futureboogie has cemented his warm dynamic output as a much sought after sound since 2011 and ‘Keep Pushing’ exemplifies why.

Title track ‘Keep Pushing’ is a cut back slow grooving house record cultivated over swollen bass, weighty kicks and shifting hit hats, a deep menacing vocal uttering ‘Keep Pushing’ is incorporated alongside a staccato synth arrangement to build towards a subtle crescendo in slaps & alternating bass.

‘Walk Out’ is a captivating combination of oscillating bass, shifting percussion and sporadic patches of punchy piano chords while ‘Information’ rumbles along through warm rippling percussion, temperate melodies and a recurring accapella to dish out a hypnotic-groove and a dynamic third offering.

Denney’s re-work incorporates pulsating kicks and shifting snares to bubble alongside soft pads and the original vox to dish up a slightly grittier final offering with a twist of old school to round off the EP in style.
